We gather on Pentecost Sunday for worship at 10am.

Fifty days after Easter, we celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost.  Crossing all boundaries that would separate us, the Spirit brings the wildeness of God’s mercy to places we least expect it – to a crowd of strangers of different lands and tongues, to dry bones, to our weak hearts.  Jesus promises his disciples that they will be accompanied by the Holy Spirit, and that this Spirit reveals the truth.  We celebrate that we too have been visited with this same Spirit.  Guided by the truth, we join together in worship, and then disperse to share the fullness of Christ’s love with the world.

We gather on the 7^th Sunday of Easter for worship at 10am.

The gospel for today is always taken from the long prayer Jesus prays for his followers in John’s gospel on the night before his death, and always includes Jesus’ desire that his followers will be one as he and the Father are one.  This oneness is not mere doctrinal agreement or institutional unity, but mutual abiding, interpenetrating life, mutual love, and joy.  This oneness is the work of the Spirit whom we have received by also await.  Come, Holy Spirit!

We gather on the 6^th Sunday of Easter for worship at 10am and the dedication of the new Glenn and Barbara Johnson shade structure from the legacy gift of $25,000 given to our Child Development Center. A potluck lunch will immediately follow in the Fellowship Hall.  Pastor Glenn and Barbara served St. Stephen’s for 14 years from 1976-90. They returned to the church as retired folks in 1997 and continued serving as volunteers in many ways. Blessed be the memory of these children of God. May light perpetual shine upon them.

We gather on the 4^th Sunday of Easter, April 21^st, at 10am for worship AND for a very special Dedication of the Buswell Family Playground. The entire Buswell family will be there and eight of our preschool families will attend as well. The children will be singing some of their Chapel songs at the beginning of worship.

At the end of worship, we will all go over to the playground for the Dedication Service, which especially honors the work and life of Ron Buswell, who gave so much of his time and skill to our church and preschool. His loving handprint is seen just about everywhere we look at our church. There will be a cake and coffee reception immediately following on the playground.
